Brendan Kearns
Managing Director
As a Director of KB Associates Pte Ltd and Managing Director of KBA Europe, Brendan brings a wealth of experience to the company from Diving; Inspection and auditing. He is a registered OHSAS18001 Lead Auditor with IRCA UK and has been in the audit team for Saturation, Air and ROV diving systems for major oil companies within the Asian and Middle Eastern Regions.
Brendan has attained a 'Honours Degree' in English Law and a Master Degree in International Business Law.
Brendan has also acted as a client site representative on inspection and maintenance projects in both the Middle and Far East. Having worked in the Offshore Commercial Diving Industry in the United Kingdom, Africa, Middle East and Asian regions over the past 26 years; Brendan has also qualified as an ASNT Level 3 Inspection Consultant, PCN Level 2 multi-disciplined inspector & IRATA LII Rope Access technician.
In the consultancy aspect, Brendan has been involved as a Ship repair superintendent and as consultant on drill rig acceptance trials, rigging equipment surveys and a host of other Oil and Gas related survey functions.
Brendan has been instrumental in the development of the company's Hyperbaric Environmental Testing equipment and procedure over the last few years as well as the unique FMECA format that has become the industry standard; these bring KBA to the forefront of the offshore diving industry for such services.
He has attended the Divelab / DSI-KM Basic Helmet Technician trainers' course and is one of the KBA Training Centre - Helmet technician training team for the DSI-KM approved courses. Recently, he has completed his Lloyds Marine Surveyor Diploma and is using this to further KBA's expertise in the daughter craft market.
Colin Alexander
General Manager
With over 35 years in the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry particularly in the Diving and NDT related fields, Colin Alexander brings a wealth of practical experience, knowledge and depth of key industry skills to the company.
Colin transferred from Singapore (KB Associates Pte Ltd) in July 2018 to take up the position of General Manager of KB Associates (Europe) Limited based in Aberdeen; where he is responsible for the daily operations of our UK office. Coming from an offshore diving, NDT, rope access and medic background, Colin is well suited and in a perfect position to manage and lead these areas of our business. His time spent in the service supply industry has also given him a vast depth of knowledge in the ROV and survey industries.
After seven years with the British Royal Navy actively involved in clearance diving, Colin has since travelled and worked extensive around the globe (UK, Norway, South East Asia, India, West Africa, Middle East and the Gulf of Mexico) actively working in the saturation diving field, particularly in the commercial oil construction and subsea NDT industries. In 1996 he took up the position as the Operations Manager in a Singapore company hence grounding him to Singapore shores. He continued his career contracting to the drilling industry in the Singapore shipyards - succeeding in NDT, UWILD and Derrick Building services. With his subsequent deep experience and involvement in the running of offshore operations (including Brunei Shell underwater services program) for a large diving contractor and the management of a sales department in a renown global technical equipment rental company (diving, ROV, survey, marine and NDT industries).
Colin is undeniably an asset to the KBA Group and brings with him the dedication and passion to drive the KB Associates (Europe) Limited to even higher levels of success and excellence.
